Texas is home to more than 14 million women, making the health and well-being of women critical to the overall health of our state. Yet, Texas’ own laws and policies disproportionately affect access to women’s healthcare and maternal care.
To address these ongoing challenges and concerns, join the League of Women Voters Comal Area on Wednesday, February 19th at 6:30 p.m. at the New Braunfels Public Library Westside Branch, 2910 IH35 Frontage Rd New Braunfels, TX 78130, for a presentation by New Braunfels Family Medicine physician Emily Briggs, MD, MPH, FAAFP. Dr. Briggs will discuss critical healthcare issues and challenges posed by Texas laws and policies. Her presentation will emphasize the urgent need for changes needed to ensure comprehensive and safe healthcare for pregnant women and marginalized communities in our state.
