Students in the Comal area have the opportunity to create a prize-winning poster with the theme Be My Voice – VOTE ! The deadline for entries is Tuesday, Feb. 28.

The contest is open to students in Comal or Guadalupe Counties in the following three age groups: kindergarten through second grades, third through fifth grades, and sixth through eighth grades. A cash award of $100 will go to the overall winner, and an award of $50 will go to the winner from each of the three age groups.

The contest is sponsored by the League of Women Voters-Comal Area (LWVCA). Winning art may be used by the LWVCA in nonpartisan get-out-the-vote activities. The theme was chosen to remind students that adult votes shape students’ futures, and it provides an opportunity for them to learn more about the value of voting and democracy.
