 Wondering what you can do to help Get Out The Vote and defend democracy this fall? The opportunities abound with LWV Comal Area! We're looking forward to a September packed with outreach events. In addition to the events listed on the calendar above, we are working with local food banks to offer voter services and information at their facilities and special food drives, and with local high schools to assist in registering students turning 18. Plan to attend the Election Security public information program on Sept. 11, and the MFPL NVRD Celebration on Sept. 17, to help empower voters with information and a chance to practice casting a ballot.
 
At the Fall Membership Meeting, we'll discuss all these GOTV efforts, upcoming public information programs, Voter Guide and election information distribution. and you can pick up VOTE411 yard signs.  RSVP is not required to attend but please register here to facilitate meeting planning (you must be logged in to see the event & register). Please do bring friends interested in the League! Our success is possible only because of our members, supporters and donors. Thank you!

COMAL COUNTY ELECTIONS OFFICE HONORS
STICKER ART CONTEST PARTICIPANTS

Comal County Elections Coordinator Cynthia Jaqua invited the 2024 Voting Sticker Design Art Contest participants and their families to a special Elections Office Open House and voting machine demonstration on two recent Saturdays.  Comal County Clerk Bobbie Koepp served as a contest judge and greeted participants at the Open House.  The celebration included a display of designs from all 50 entrants, presentations of awards and certificates, election stickers and pins for the young attendees and lots of photo ops!  LWVCA  thanks the students for their creative entries, their families and teachers for the encouragement they provided, and Jaqua and Koepp for the time and energy they contributed to the contest and to recognizing the young artists.

FUNDRAISERS FUEL OUR VOTER SERVICES
 
Now through Sept. 23, LWV Comal Area supporters have a variety of ways they can help fund our voter services. Yard signs are available for a suggested minimum $5 donation, contact President@lwvcomal.org to order.  15 Paws Earrings is selling a special collection of handcrafted earrings to benefit our League, see available selections at LWV Collection.  The BIG GIVE SA online event benefitting community organizations in the greater San Antonio area runs Sept. 18, 6 p.m. to Sept. 19, 6 p.m. and the page is open for donations from Sept. 11 to Sept. 23, 9 a.m.  All proceeds from these fundraisers will go to providing nonpartisan Voter Guides and  election information to potential voters throughout our community.  As always, supporters can donate any day, any time via our website Donations link or by mailing a check to PO Box 311324, New Braunfels, TX 78131.
